Brief Professional History
I began life in architecture, planning and engineering at the age of 13 (from 1966 through 1979) while working at my father’s studio. I never lost my love – or my knack – for the field. I have designed and managed a large number and variety of building types and projects. Although I have had my own development and contracting business, my real love has always been as a Project Architect and Manager. I hold a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees plus I am certified in the state of Florida as an Architect.
My experiences in Architectural designs vary from large mix-use projects with tall structures, resort-condo residential, multi and single family residential, Institutional and iconic signature building types.
I have also collaborated in many Urban Planning projects in the course of my professional career. Having had three years of training while working for the firm Duany, Plater-Zyberk (DPZ), I am well prepared to implement the principles of New Urbanism into my designs. Planning projects include “New Towns” which range from 200 to 10,000 acres. I have also designed many Resort-Condo Residential type projects found in the Caribbean (Antigua, BWI) and in the Middle East (Dubai, U.A.E.).
I have learned that design is a problem solving process.
I am married (my wife Maggy) and have three sons (Lawrence, Rene & Carlos). I love spending time with them and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience of seeing them grow and mature.
I enjoy reading especially about history. I spent nearly five years in Dubai, U.A.E. and a month in Malaysia and learned a tremendous amount about not only architecture but different cultures in general. I have also traveled extensively throughout western Europe. My favorite country to visit is Italy.
I live for my family and profession with a tremendous thirst for learning.

I eventually designed over thirty projects within the "The World". All of these where in Schematic Design phase for development approval from the governmental approving agencies.

The MDX headquarters building won SARA and AIA awards. I designed and worked on several tall structures such as Cypress Club (twin thirty story towers) in Ft. Myers, I designed a 100 story mixed use tower in Dubai as a competition and won a prize, 610 Clematis a residential condominium in an urban setting in West Palm Beach, Crystal Bay ( Resort Condominium type) in Antigua and many more.

I worked full time and attended school full time and left my studios for the summers. This is why it took three years to finish my Masters Degree.
The concentration was on Architectural Design. The last year I spent half a year doing my research and producing a program for a design of a resort hotel and the second half I spent designing it, drawing it with black ink on illustration boards and producing a book at the end of it all.
