About

I am a registered architect with a Masters degree from Rice University, registration in New York and 17 years of experience, mostly in NYC on a diverse range of building types and projects.  My experience and strengths are in design and in construction documents.

Beginning in Houston, I worked for SI Morris, a very technically competent firm that did all of Phillip Johnson's projects in Texas and some elsewhere, on the construction documents for a 20 story office building in Oklahoma City and on numerous bank projects where I was the principal draftsman.  In San Antonio, I worked for Ford, Powell & Carson on the design and construction drawings for a number of institutional and educational projects including a 31,000 sq. foot academic and laboratory building at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.  I worked for SOM in both Houston and New York.  I was the first person in the design department in SOM's New York office to use the computer where I worked on a one-million square foot office complex in suburban NJ for Chase Manhattan Bank.  At Pasanella & Klein, I took over a very high end Co-op renovation for Joan Rivers fixing significant design issues, completing construction documents and overseeing construction and did the design and design development for an un-built 4 story addition for Harry Winston Jewelers on 5th Ave.  At Prentice & Chan, Ohlhausen, I designed a contextual 103-unit mixed use apartment building and adjacent land marked Federal townhouse, a church and low-income apartment building on W. 104th Street (built), participated in the design of a dormitory for Cooper Union (built), and the design and construction drawings for offices of an investment bank.  At Spitzer & Associates, I worked on several high-end residential projects.  Since 2001, I worked as a consultant for the Port Authority of NY and NJ on a number of projects including Jamaica Station Air Train Terminal/office building and Newark Airport and on my own.
