About

As a young professional, graduating from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s School of Architecture and most recently working as an architectural designer for the past three (3) years at Ting + Li Architects, I am looking to continue my professional career working towards becoming a licensed architect.

My own educational experience has ranged within abroad programs, graduate course participation as well as completing a year-long thesis. Professionally, I have worked within both mid-size and small firms. Projects that I was involved in include both new construction and renovation for: institutional, healthcare, K-12 schools and higher education as well as retail/sports facilities.

Throughout all of these experiences, I have been provoked with questioning typical nomenclatures and instead focusing on innovation and new strategies to solve problems. I am highly motivated to continue advancing my knowledge within the field of architecture and design. Currently I am seeking to continue my professional knowledge and skills within an environment that encourages creativity and innovation.

A year long project was dedicated to looking at the ties between culture and nature, and how as an architect we can find seemingly unconnected links between the two to develop projects that focus on ecological and environmental issues. This particular project, “Rehabilitating Forested Languages”, focused on the ties between the loss of the world‘s languages and deforestation. Language is the essence of a group of people’s culture. Language is memory. A deep tie was found in the forests of Borneo, where the indigenous people have a intrinsic cultural connection to the land and its development. A design intervention was created that would combine local cultural and reforestation through “growing” education centers, entitled ethnobotanical medicinal centers.
