About

I am an ARB registered architect having graduated with my RIBA part 2 June 2006 I obtained my RIBA part 3 in December 2008. I was in full time employment until February 2009 with MacGabhann architects in Letterkenny, Co Donegal. Since February 2009 until January 2012 I had been working in a freelance capacity on private residential, some commercial and industrial, 3d visualisation and competition projects.

I also became a part time undergraduate tutor at Queens University Belfast in October 2009 until May 2011. Through my work as a studio tutor I have also been assisting with research exploring architecture and autism, specifically designing inclusive environments for autistic children within mainstream education. I have a lot of experience with private house design both in the UK & Ireland and I have been a team member on several urban design/ master planning projects and public/ community buildings.

My experience to date has enabled me to work as an individual as well as a team member. As an individual within a design team I can work with initiative and foresight enabling me to contribute positively to the team environment and ultimately achieving the end result to set deadlines.
Since my position as draftsman with JA Kelly to my current position I have worked through increasing levels of responsibility and under direct instruction to senior partners and design team leaders.

The experience I have gained in this twelve year period has enabled me to recognize the importance of quality design and the importance of working within a team in order to achieve quality. My academic and professional achievements are a reflection of my ability and determination to succeed providing me with the opportunity and responsibility to contribute effectively to any task.

Specialties:I am progressing with Autodesk Revit and BIM management as my primary focus. I am also proficient with several cad packages as well as 3D visualisation software. I use Photoshop CS, in design & illustrator for post production work and presentation. I have developed these skills independently and I am very able to adapt to various software applications required within this role.

I am continually interested in exploring ASD, specifically designing inclusive environments for autistic children.
