I am working in an office which is specialized in mixed-use and high-density projects. Currently working on 700-unit mixed-used in Downtown Los Angeles called G8. Ironically, this happens to be on the site where I had my thesis project. Although there is a slight difference of $250MM budget between my degree project and this one, It's such a great advantage to know the site context well enough. since I joined this project, I've been involved in many aspects of it, specially Green Building process and construction documents. The project's overview is; 7 story mid-rise building with 4 levels of subterranean parking, retails (Whole Food Market & restaurants) on ground level, second floor recreation area with two court yards and a pool and a roof-top deck with pool. Due to the volume of the job and being one of the highest density developments in this area, It's been very challenging for all the team members. So far the concrete of 3rd level parking is poured and it's expected to be completed by 2016.
