Originally from Panama City, Panama, Michael came to The United States to pursue his studies at the University of Florida where he obtained his Bachelor of Design in Architecture in 2002.  Since then, he moved to New York and was quickly recruited by Asymptote for eight months to work on a retail project for the flag ship store of Brazilian designer Carlos Miele in the Meatpacking District of New York City.

He was then hired at Archetype studio where he gained substantial experience for 6 years and after only 2 years became the head project manager overseeing a team of designers working in numerous projects throughout the state of New York.

Michael graduated in May 2011 with a Masters of Architecture from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and is excited to return to New York City to pursue his goals as a designer.

Archetype, Project Manager

In the six years that I spent at Archetype studio I was able to develop the necessary skills to successfully oversee a project from beginning to end while supervising an entire design staff of five through all stages.

My tasks included coordinating client meetings, collaborating with design and construction consultants, as well as reviewing bidding documents and negotiating with contractors of many trades.

In addition, I assisted in the production of contractual agreements not only between our studio and our clients but also between our clients and independent contractors to ensure quality was met at every step of the process and establish a trusted reputation within our community.
