My name is Alex Asbury, originally from Marietta, Georgia, and currently enrolled at the University of Kansas School of Architecture & Design. I am pursuing my Master of Architecture with certificates in Design Build and Urban Design. My academic pursuits are driven by a profound interest in the dynamic realms of placemaking, sustainability, and experiential architecture.
In my exploration of these disciplines, I am committed to pushing boundaries and experimenting with innovative ideas to fashion spaces that go beyond mere functionality. My studies involve a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, enabling me to translate conceptual ideas into tangible, impactful spaces. The University of Kansas has provided me with a dynamic platform to delve into the intricacies of architecture, further refining my skills and broadening my perspective.
My professional experience, like my academic, has similarly been diverse. Between hand drawn master plans for agrihoods in rural Georgia to retail construction documents in downtown Atlanta. I have been fortunate enough to partake in a wide array of projects.
As I navigate through my academic and professional journey, I am excited about the prospect of making a meaningful contribution to the world of architecture and leaving a lasting impression through my work.

In this smaller firm I took on a more technical role doing
construction documents and schematic design for corporate and
commercial properties. Working in a more formal setting I gained a
greater understanding of the work environment.

At Serenbe I was given the opportunity to shadow CEO Steve
Nygren in all business functions. As well as, produce hand
illustrations alongside Dr. Phill Tabb. This included master
planning and preliminary design for luxury single family homes.
