I am an explorer, designer, musician, cyclist, urban farmer, and freshly-graduated honors student of architecture. I believe that architecture cannot move forward until it fully embraces the potentials of the fourth Industrial Revolution, so I'm looking to help design, fabricate, and empower self-sustaining ecosystems in a chaotic and ever-changing world.
I'm currently looking for full-time work in the New York City area - in the meantime, I'm working as an architect at desertWORKS Studio, operating a solo practice as Sam Owen Design, co-founding a graphic design company, and working on a music career on the side.
desertWORKS Studio, Tucson, AZ, US, Architect-in-Training
Since graduation I have been given a significant degree of independence working as part of the desertWORKS family on small-scale commercial projects across Arizona. Of special note are an agave bar + plaza for the Tucson Mercado San Augustin Annex and a boutique wine bar for Midtown Phoenix. I'm serving as design lead for both of these projects, one currently in Design Development and the other currently beginning construction.
Sam Owen Design (self-employed), Phoenix, AZ, US, Principal
I am currently managing a solo architectural design practice in the interim period while seeking a full-time architectural position. To date the practice has delivered work for 2 small-scale commercial clients, providing design and permitting services.
University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, US, BArch, College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA)
