Hi! My name is Aishwarya Mahadevan. I will be graduating with a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Cornell AAP in May 2023. I am an inquisitive learner and worker - always excited to immerse-in and discover new things! I am a dancer; I carry and apply qualities of expression and story-telling into Architecture. The stories are varied but embedded in social, cultural, and ecological concerns beyond the building, making links to the city. I believe that architecture works closely with the context, and I am passionate about designing spaces in collaboration with nature, local materials, culture, and the users.
My skills are Concept Design, Planning and Organization, and Communication, all of which I believe are valuable to a design team. I have a unique and playful approach to visualization and representation. The extensive use of physical models in my Bachelors and digital tools in my internships and graduate program are skills that would be helpful for the position. I’m very comfortable with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, V-Ray, Adobe Suite, and Revit. I am an international student with a fresh perspective and an authorization to legally work in the United States.
Lastly, I’m a people person with high energy and a lot of ambition to succeed. I am positive and enjoy tackling challenged head-on. I love indulging in critical design discussions and exchanging ideas in teams and for collaborations! Please feel free to email me at am2546@cornell.edu. Thank you!

Cornell University, Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning; Ithaca, Masters, Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design
At Cornell, my area of investigation has been at the intersection of people, culture, and ecology. Coursework has included studying materiality and its possible reuse/ recycle, adaptive reuse with a focus on the social implications and materiality, and testing the uses of technology like augmented reality against historical and cultural patterns (current).
CEPT University, Faculty of Architecture; Ahmedabad , BArch, Architecture
At CEPT, I built an understanding of sensibly reading the context and responding to it. Many projects focused on spatial qualities, planning and organization, and sectional relationship between spaces. The training inculcated a practice of critical thinking and iterative design process.
