My role at Tighe Architecture primarily involves supporting the project managers by producing designs, graphics and models for projects ranging in scale and type. These include single family residences, apartment and commercial buildings, an urban complex in Commerce and a spiritual retreat center in Joshua Tree. Additionally, I have also been in charge of producing a publication on Tighe's single family residential work; involving the production of digital collages for each project.

Morphosis Architects, Los Angeles, CA, US, Intern

My primary role at Morphosis involved supporting the design teams in the office by being part of the fabrication team; building physical models ranging in scale and type, from study models to high quality presentation models. I helped use and maintain 3D Powder printers, laser cutters, as well as wood working equipment.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to work with several project teams in the office, designing and formatting the layout for a comprehensive planning book for an international urban project, as well as supporting the production of images and graphics, both digital and analog.

I also worked with Thom directly for an exhibition at the Tchoban Foundation in Berlin, consisting of the design and construction of a new series of high relief combinatory art sculptures (consisting of 3D printed parts, aluminum structure, fiberglass, acrylics, and more), analog drafting additions on a series of fine art prints, as well as the design and production of a graphite painting triptych.

My role at Tighe Architecture was designing a speculative proposal for a US/Mexico Border project, featured in a Surface magazine publication titled "Eight Design Firms Imagine a Border Without Walls." I led the design of the project under Patrick Tighe's guidance, collaborating with several colleagues to produce renderings, analog/digital collages, as well as hand drafting the layout for the publication assemblage. the Publication can be found here: https://www.surfacemag.com/articles/us-mexico-border-wall-design/

Tom Wiscombe Architecture, Los Angeles, Intern

My role at Tom Wiscombe Architecture consisted of supporting the design team in an international competition for the Korean Museum of writing, producing photorealistic renders, diagrams, and concept models, as well as designing several options for the building facade, ground, and massing. Additionally, I worked in labor intensive manual construction, calculating the price for an office deck structure as well as assembling it on site with the help of my colleagues. In the later stages of the internship, I assisted with the fabrication of several presentation models, including the Hollywood Bell Tower and a proposal for a rooftop pavilion in Downtown LA.

My role at S.oN arquitectura consisted of producing concept design proposals and renderings for a series of projects ranging in scale and budget. These include the concept for a mixed-use residential tower in downtown Guatemala, as well as several pavilion proposals for a commercial center. Additionally, I also designed several client presentations and animations, and produced hand drawn perspectives for a single family residence facade and a hotel project in the southern coast of Guatemala.

Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Los Angeles, CA, US, BArch, Bachelors of Architecture

SCI-Arc offered me a scholarship to to transfer into third year and provided me a platform where I could explore my interests in complex architectural form and advanced representational techniques. I also had the opportunity to attend a SCI-Arc exchange program in Tokyo, where I was taught by distinguished faculty at the University of Tokyo, including Thomas Daniel & Akira Wakita. Spanning my three years at the school, my work was published in every SCI-Arc ONRAMP edition and exhibited in every Spring Show since I transferred in.
My undergraduate thesis, "Crossing the Line," was featured in the Center of Keck Hall. Upon presenting my undergraduate thesis at SCI-Arc last spring, Pritzker prize recipient Thom Mayne offered me the opportunity to take part in a 9 month internship program at Morphosis Architects. I graduated from SCI-Arc with recognition, having my thesis awarded the SCI-Arc Undergraduate Thesis Merit Award.

2015 UFM Design Week Awards - Project of the Year, 1st Place

At the Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM), I underwent 3.5 years of design studios and applied studies including environmental systems, construction technology and administration and object design, as well as a liberal economics program imparted to all faculties within the school. Both of my third year projects were nominated and awarded the best design projects of the year in the 2015 UFM Design Week.
