About 

Experienced Architect with a demonstrated history of working in the Architecture, Design and Planning industry. She received a five-year professional Bachelors of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.
     Donna is an Architect Licensed in Kansas through the NCARB Intern Development Program and the Architecture Registration Exams. She has experience coordinating projects from inception to completion. She began her career at a small firm of 2 to 5 employees, gaining a broad base of experience in many building types. Donna has gained expertise in renovations and adaptive reuse projects. Her more recent experience has focused on Senior Living, Multi-family housing and Office projects.
     An early adopter of technology in general, she first began working in AutoCAD while at KU, staying current through consistent use and continuing education. In addition, she has become proficient in Revit and the various means for collaboration through the cloud. Keeping up with the changes in regulations, Donna is a long time associate member of the International Code Council, and has served on the City of Ottawa and the Franklin County Building Code boards of appeals. Skills include: Design and Review for Accessibility and ADA Compliance, Fire Code Footprints for State Fire-marshal reviews, and senior living facility requirements (KDADS).  Working with multi-discipline Engineers on large power projects has given her an affinity for Integration and interference checking of interdisciplinary construction documents.

Completion of Construction Documents with AutoCAD & Revit coordinating 1 to 3 Interns. Effectively communicated and coordinated with a diverse group of engineers and consultants, from the preliminary phases and through to bid and construction documents. Specifications using MasterSpec, Submittal Exchange, RFI, and ASIs. I was on the team for several Proposals for RFPs to the State and others.

Computer software proficiency: Revit Architecture, AutoCAD Architecture, Windows Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook), Submittal Exchange, Bluebeam, Google Drive, Dropbox, Radmin Viewer, Autodesk 360, and other utility applications.

In 1982, as a student at KU, Donna formed her own business to free-lance as a Concrete Reinforcing Detailer for a structural engineer using AutoCAD. Whenever she is between jobs or when the economy is slow and full time jobs go on hiatus, Donna returns to completing projects within her scope as an Architect Registered in the State of Kansas.

Cardinal Power Plant/ AEP & Buckeye Power; Brilliant, Jefferson County, Ohio Between 2005–2010, flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) equipment were installed to all three units at Cardinal with Units 1 and 2 costing $300 million to construct. The FGD equipment would reduce sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions by 98%.
