Architecture is a concept of learning a different culture, people’s lifestyle and their behavior through the process of design. Working as an architect in New York has exposed me to a lot of amazing designs which forms a very harmonious contrast to the architectural elements I experienced in India.
My experience as a Junior Architect with Shakespeare Gordon Vlado Architects has given me an opportunity to work on real world design and construction practices while developing my problem solving skills as well as team coordination and communication. It has helped enhance my vision into Architecture with different contemporary design ideas, materials and construction techniques.
As a part of the Material Culture research group in University at Buffalo, I learned to pursue design inquiry through full-scale fabrication, assembly and installation; critical exploration of design and production; and study of the potential of materials. I also developed my conceptual architectural design skills by constantly “tested through making”.
I have worked on residential, commercial, institutional and urban development projects throughout my career. With comprehensive knowledge and innovative design skills, I believe I can pursue my work in the field of architecture with maximum passion, vigour and love. FIRST WINNER : 2018 Barbara G. Laurie NOMA National Student Design Competition, 1st Place
The student team proposed a transit-oriented development for a prominent site in Chicago's Woodlawn community. "Roots: Woodlawn's Gateway" designs a new transit station and an elevated, landscaped avenue that connects the site to a nearby existing transit station. The UB NOMAS team stands with their First-place award among 40 other participating schools.
