About

About me
Two years ago I moved from St. Louis, MO to my hometown in Nicaragua, and started working in Hospitality, in the field of Sustainable Tourism. What exactly is sustainable tourism? you may ask; it is the implementation of the social aspect of how tourism can provide opportunities to the local communities. In this field I was in charge of designing and managing low cost social projects, such as education facilities, clinics, housing and playgrounds. I was also the operations manager a the host hotel for the volunteers for these activities. My skills upon graduating with my master’s degree two years ago from Washington University in St. Louis, have been amplified thanks to the opportunity I had in managing multiple projects and businesses. For additional income I also worked as a free-lancer designer, in several graphic design projects as well as interior designs.

Besides my most recent employment, I previously worked in a geotechnical Engineering firm, where I held a drafting position, and was responsible for producing construction documents, floor elevation surveys for residences, and soil classification charts. In 2015 I was selected to join HOK St. Louis for an intensive summer internship, where I collaborated with other interns, and professional teams during schematic design, design proposals, competitions, and design standards. In both firms time-management, efficiency and communication were key to the successful completion of projects. I also became a Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida and Washington University in St. Louis, where I attained experience in organization, leadership, and responsibility.
