My name is Zhengyu Sun. I am a highly motivated, detail oriented, and sustainability minded architect looking for a challenging position as an entry level architect.
I did my Master of Architecture degree in Washington University in St. Louis from 2015 to 2017 and Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture in Northeastern University. Through my rigorous liberal architecture curriculum, I have developed an intensive design process driven by curiosity and imagination and excellent skills in hand drawing and computer drafting. These skills helped me in producing a lot of innovative design in architecture, landscape, and urban planning.
I am also a dynamic and ambitious architect with several working experience in multiple type of project involving commercial, civic, hospitality, religious facilities, airport single and multiple family apartment through different firms for many years. I joined the design of government sponsored housing competition when I worked in Tongji Architecture Design Corporation, one of the greatest architecture design firm in China. During my experience in Tongji, I joined a large campus project of Anhui University of Science and Technology .Between January and June 2013, I had an internship in Kohn Pedersen Fox Associate (KPF) in New York. During my experience in KPF, I’ve joined China resource headquarter project from a whole schematic design phase and design development phase. From January to June 2014, I also made another internship in Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) in New York. I’ve followed on the whole schematic design phase on Jeddah Four Season Hotel and Design Development phase on Shum Yip Upper Hill project. From May 2016 to July 2016, I've joined Joseph Wong Design Architect in San Diego, during the time in San Diego, I've followed a series Hotel Project. With those experiences, my attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills ensure that every project I work on is done accurately and to the highest standard. I am comfortable working as part of team but also have the ability to take a key role when the situation arises. My verbal communication skills and positive altitude make me an effective communicator with the other party that I work with.
