About

Hello fellow architects and planners,

I am passionate about architecture and urban planning whereas thorough research inspires creative and sustainable design solutions. I am highly interested in integrating passive design techniques coupled with utilizing renewable energy sources and high-tech to design buildings, especially ones that improve the health and wellness of the inhabitants. I believe critical-thinking and problem-solving are instrumental in furthering this design exploration and integration as both the architecture and planning professions evolve.

Employment

City of San Diego: Planning Department, San Diego, CA, US, Planning Intern

Updated seven community plan updates utilizing programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Conducted several informal weekly community workshops to engage local residents and discuss proposed community plan updates topics such as land use, zoning regulations, density and floor area ratio (F.A.R.), urban design, and transportation.

Co-authored and revised more than two dozen citywide zoning regulations primarily concerning commercial, mixed-use and multi-family, and commercial and mixed-use zones to promote transit-oriented development policies.

Identified, categorized, mapped, and cataloged over 1,000 “Huffman Packs” (substandard auto-oriented multi-family infill housing) constructed from the 1960s-1980s in North Park. Researched methods and engaged stakeholders to determine fiscally feasible methods to redevelop this substandard housing stock and replace it with affordable pedestrian- and transit-oriented multi-family housing.
