I believe in DESIGN as a broad, interdisciplinary endeavor that includes architecture, graphics, objects, decorative arts, and photography. My approach is driven by Charles Eames’ quote, “Design depends largely on constraints.” Design is a process of critical and creative thinking that asks questions and overcomes constraints. My background in architecture allows me to evaluate and advocate for good design in the work of clients and the world at large. I’ve taught art history and design at Webster University, and currently teach in the Graduate School of Architecture at Washington University.
