I'm an architect and educator based in New York City. I'm intensely interested in architecture's ability to shape the contemporary city in unexpected ways, and I'm obsessed with making beautiful drawings and models. My Master's thesis project, Homestead, has been published here on Archinect:

Freelance Designer/Consultant, New York, NY, US, Freelance designer

I’ve maintained a small freelance operation in which I’ve worked on projects ranging in scale from millwork shop drawings to code analyses to drawings for a municipal courthouse for Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ, Adjunct Instructor

Since Fall 2016, I’ve taught the following courses as an adjunct instructor at the NJIT College of Architecture and Design:

Arch156 - Tools and Techniques
Spring 2017 - present: In this introductory representation course, first year students are simultaneously exposed to digital tools and basic representational conventions.

Arch541G - Graduate Construction I
Fall 2018: This graduate level course introduces first year graduate students to the vast breadth of construction techniques available to architects. The course covers both standard practices and innovative construction techniques.

Arch161 - Introduction to Design
Fall 2016: This introductory studio immerses first year students in basic design principles and slowly introduces architectural elements like walls, roofs, openings, and site.

Summer Youth Employment Program Instructor
Summer 2016: As part of Newark’s Summer Youth Employment Program, I was instructor for a course entitled the Newark Beautification Initiative, in which high school students learned about adaptive reuse.

Openshop, New York, NY, US, Designer

At Openshop, I worked directly with partners on several New York apartments, an iconic gay nightclub in Chelsea, a public space competition entry in Chinatown, and a church and community center in Flushing. As part of a small team, I was intimately involved in every stage of every project that comes through the office.

Keith Krumwiede, New York, NY, US, Designer

I worked for Keith Krumwiede on his 2017 book Atlas of Another America. I assisted Keith with every aspect of the book’s production, including original drawings and copy editing. I also assisted in preparing a number of exhibitions associated with Keith’s work, including pieces for the 2016 Lisbon Triennale and the 2017 Chicago Biennial.

I began working for Bromley Caldari as a summer intern in 2010, and returned after graduating from the University of Maryland in 2011. At BCA, I honed my drawing and modeling skills, learned about the business and managerial aspects of operating a small architecture firm, and experienced the realities of pushing a project through the bureaucracy of the New York City Department of Buildings.
