Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Austin spent 4 years in the United States Marine Corps by the end of his enlistment he had attained the rank of Sergeant. After a serendipitous meeting with a few faculty members of NewSchool, Austin began his college career in B-Arch program. Since then he has been building and drawing to my hearts content. Austin is currently learning how far to can stretch BIM programs, and is heavily involved with fabrication. As far as design goes, he is very interested in Urban Design and Planning, and Mixed-Use Buildings.

At Ziggurat we specialized in custom residential projects in beautiful Coronado, California. Lots of remodels and a few new construction projects the main project I worked on was the Ermish residence. This was an inherited project from 2009 that was resumed this year. The issue being that this entire project had to be brought to 2015 standards. Throughout the project I was responsible for remodeling the project to fit new standards, managing our consultants, and updating the client when key project points where met.

The project that I was employed for was a bit out of the norm for me however it was no less very enriching. It consisted of around 30 buildings to be renovated or constructed for 3 prisons in Southern California. California Institute for Men (CIM), California Institute for Women (CIW), and Finally Richard J Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD). As an intern I was expected to go onsite and verify as built drawings as required. I also took down minutes at consulting meetings. I was assigned to set up boards, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations for our principle architect Linda Zubiate before every meeting with the client and facility managers. Finally the bulk of the work for this was to use Revit to produce the schematic design, programming, and design drawings.
