Education

Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, US, Bachelors, Construction Managment

The undergraduate curriculum in Construction Science at Texas A&M University is offered through the Department of Architecture. The four year Bachelor of Science in Construction Science degree prepares students for challenging careers in industries supporting the built environment.

Starting my degree in Environmental Design, I acquired skills and knowledge through a studio-based experience with a variety of proposed or actual design projects. The studio projects place a shared emphasis on the technical and expressive content of design work, the research process, how to synthesize and document design ideas, and the creation of tangible products that achieve a high quality of graphic and physical craft.

After transferring to the Construction Science program, specialized course work included building systems, materials and methods of construction, scheduling, cost estimating, structures, construction management, law, and business/labor relations. This interdisciplinary approach provided the best possible exposure to the various tools needed to become a construction industry leader. I quickly became a valued member of a construction team and actively participated in planning, cost estimating, scheduling, supervision, and commissioning of complete facilities.
