Catherine Menard has been working consistently as an independent creative director, graphic designer, artist and collaborator — engaged with clients ranging from sculptors to established design firms.
Catherine recently completed her work with Stephen Glassman Studio on the eight-story sculptural facade "Flows Two Ways." This waterfront skyline sculpture in Manhattan is commissioned by The Durst Organization to complement their new Bjarke Ingels VIA skyscraper at W57th and the Hudson River. Previously, she has contributed to envisioning the future of spaces and branding for companies such as Theresa Fatino Design, BrandIQ, Boeing + Teague, Motorola, and Toyota.
Additionally, Catherine has focused throughout the last three years to actualize her winning conceptual design of the Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial. In partnership with Moule & Polyzoides Architects and Urbanists, this public artwork was completed and unveiled for the 100 year commemoration of the Armenian Genocide on April 24th 2015 in Pasadena’s Memorial Park. Catherine has appeared on the cover of Pasadena Weekly, on Armenian Television, in the Los Angeles Times Local, and KCET's esteemed ArtBound.
Prior to the Memorial, Menard designed and built the stage set for Art Center College of Design's first TEDx conference held in Pasadena, California. Catherine was also in a select group of students who collaborated with The Getty Center's design team to create LA Constructs the Future: 1940-1990, which exhibited at The Getty Center in the Summer of 2013.
Catherine currently maintains a private studio practice in South Los Angeles. She is presently in final conceptual phases for a three act “film sculpture” commissioned by Glendale Arts which will be premiered at the OPEN Festival in mid September of 2017.

Stephen Glassman Studio, Los Angeles, CA, US, CREATIVE DIRECTOR | GRAPHIC DESIGNER - Independent Contractor
Creative Director and Designer at Stephen Glassman Studio. Here I contributed to the creation of eight-story public sculpture “Flows Two Ways” in NYC from concept to completion (August 2016). Simultaneously, I re-branded, organized, created, and curated written and visual content for the studio — distilling his voice as an artist and stabilizing his relevance in the contemporary conversation. As Creative Director, I oversaw three employees who implemented content which I created for Social Media. I was also in constant communication with the Studio’s publicity team at Resnicow + Associates, envisioning promotional strategies and approving written and visual content.

Hired by, and working in collaboration with, Theresa Fatino Design.
The client Kimpton Hotels needed complete branding from concept to completion for their new hotel in the historic R.J. Reynolds building in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Starting with extensive research of the area, historic events and demographics, I presented names for the hotel with corresponding reasoning and significance of that name.
After a name was chosen, I simultaneously developed color palettes, mood boards, logo ideation, identity copy, and hotel collateral to fully brand the experience based on the findings, the interior design, and the desires of the client.
I also created original graphic artwork and wallpaper to be used on the walls as large-scale treatments, as well as original textiles for the accent pillow on each bed!
Completed in May 2016
