EXTENSION ALVAR AALTO MUSEUM. JYVÄSKYLÄ, FINLAND. 2015/2016
Design of an extension connecting the Alvar Aalto Museum and the Museum of Central Finland, and the surrounding outdoor area.
The extensión project is based on one architectural concept: a “hinge”, a simple element that embraces predominant directions and boosts the versatility that the extension’s program requires; opening and closing towards one way or another depending on the different uses needed in every moment.
For that it is used a simple, esential geometric pattern. Like a “hinge” is conceptually and formally simple.
