This is the Refugio de Mesa, an extension of the Iglesia Cristiana El Buen Pastor for their asylee program. With the use of compressed earth block, we partnered up with the Brick by Brick program of Scottsdale, AZ to create an addition cultivated through the lens of security, privacy, and creating a sense of place of those individuals who are seeking asylum. A relief in the timeline of events that might be in the road ahead, providing a refuge for individuals to feel secure and protected during their time at the church.
