In the colorful excitement of the 20th arrondissement of Paris rue de Buzenval, today stands an innovative and design establishment of 1,800 m² and 162 beds, halfway between a hotel and youth hostel.
The very narrow plot is entirely occupied by the building’s footprint. In return, the strong identity of its facade catches the eye: worked in the thickness by a play of semi-glossy metallic facets, bays set back from the alignment, it is adorned with bronze and silver reflections and blends in the Parisian sky. Perception from the street makes it vibrant with a play of warm reflections in a minimalist and refined spirit. The mixed wood-concrete structure meets ambitious environmental objectives E+/C-, Eco Label Bois. The ground floor is widely open to the urban environment and becomes a shared event space.
In an environment where plants are not abundant, the vegetation on the roof terrace contributes to the comfort of users and is part of a more global reflection on reintroducing nature into the city. From the base to the rooftop, the hostel is open to the outside and in close connection with its neighborhood. It contributes to bringing life by mixing customers and residents in a logic of functional diversity. Buzenval is a small, deeply human and inclusive hotel ecosystem, operated by JO&JOE Paris Nation.
