Education

Durban University of Technology, Durban, ZA, Architectural technology

Jan 2020 - current

University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, ZA, Town & Regional Planning

Town & Regional Planning exposed me to a variety of theories within urban planning. Part of the study syllabus included a dissertation whereby we had to research and explore variety of topics. My topic was as follows:
• The economic impact of High-speed rail transit infrastructure: The case of the Gautrain ( Study Area: Sandton & Rosebank - Gauteng - ZAR).

Other topics explored:

• City & Regional Planning Theories (2015): The brief of this project required that we use a real life
Project that was currently been developed or had been recently completed. The proposed low cost housing project in Mamelod - Nellmapius extension 2 was my chosen project as I had been hands under Magalela Architects in association with Metro Plan Town planners in the period of 2014. The project was a response a feasibility study done in 2006 for the Gauteng Human Settlement which estimated a housing shortage in the Mamelodi area. The planning theories applied included, township planning, Metropolitan and regional frameworks.

• Conceptualizing on the Urban Design Frameworks for Soweto Jabulani Cultural Precinct (2015):
This project was part of the module Planning Design IV. The brief was to identify the frameworks that were currently in place within the Jabulani Precinct & develop urban design guidelines that would correlate with these.
