My name is Ntchwaidumela Thomas (Dumela for short), and I am a current Senior year architecture student at the North Carolina State University, College of Design. Originally I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where I have lived for 18 years. Previous Education consisted of enrollment at the Atlanta International School, where I was emersed in a highly ethnic oriented environment. This allowed me to explore other cultures and histories which were different from my own. Growing up I played soccer at an intense level, playing both club and school soccer since the age of four. As a current Design student, I desire that one day I will own an architecture firm that will lead the world to a more sustainable mindset in design. A firm which prioritizes the integration of sustainable technologies (wind, solar etc.), in order that households that use hard earned money towards other responsibilities such as putting kids through school. The other side to this firm would be to integrate these technologies in such a way that it is aesthetically pleasing towards the concept of a home. A home is to be warming and welcoming, a place of rest as supposed to a hub of energy.

During my current fourth year in architecture, I have had the opportunity to study abroad at the Prague Institute, in the Czech Republic. I have gained an invaluable experience and global view of the world, both personally and architecturally.
