Nicole Mater

Nicole Mater

New York, NY, US

I’m currently a designer for Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, where I best contribute to my team by providing parametric and algorithmic design expertise for a multi-million square foot project. I have been deeply exploring climatic and environmental modeling, and I'm always looking for ways to use technology to work more efficiently and communicate more effectively.

Before joining PCPA, I worked for CO-Office, a burgeoning design and spatial UX firm, as consulting Business Development Director. This full throttle opportunity taught me how to successfully market a firm and how to earn client’s trust throughout the design process. In the past, I also worked as a design intern for HDR Architecture, researched housing and real-estate for The Temple Hoyne Buell Center, and assisted in teaching studio at GSAPP.

I’m enthusiastic about what I do because every day brings a fresh challenge. My varied background experiences all involve design thinking, and I’m better at my job for it.

I have an MS in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University GSAPP and an M.Arch from the University of Kansas SADP. I also hold a Certificate in Architecture for Health and Wellness, and I’m a certified LEED Green Associate.

I’m always interested in learning about opportunities to collaborate or to get involved. If you’d like to get in touch, you can reach me at
