These exponential advances, most notably in forms of artificial intelligence, will prove daunting for as long as we continue to insist upon employment as our primary source of income. The White House, in a stunning report to Congress this week, put the probability at 83 percent that a worker making less than $20 an hour in 2010 will eventually lose his job to a machine. Even workers making as much as $40 an hour face odds of 31 percent. — bostonglobe.com

rick i believe you are talking about yourself.
Rikki, two things I know for sure, well three; you're an asshat, douchecanoe. B, you're not an architect, your a plan drawer. 3, I'd rather eat your excrement, than read your excrement.
Rick is Sky-net.
b3ta,
Now aren't you looking in the mirror.
As for plan drawer or architect. Do you really know what services I provide clients. Just so you know, not everyone is looking for a over budget dream fantasy that is going to bury the client into a debt that they'll never be able to pay off.
I'm NOT the problem of all McMansions. McMansions are against what I would design for a client for new construction. In addition, I don't promote new construction. Astoria government flat out discourages new construction. They promote as much as possible making use of existing and historic buildings.
I'm in Astoria and that is the culture of Astoria and area around it. Sure, if someone wants a new house, it is probably going to be in Warrenton or out in the county lands. However, people aren't of exorbant wealth. 75% of the population based on a city conducted survey in Astoria would be low income. For the most part, the county as a whole is predominately low income.
Do you really think I am going to suggest or recommend them designing new multi-million dollar mansion.
Jane! Stop this crazy thing!
re: blue collar jobs, don't forget according to the PewResearchCenter "Impacts from automation have thus far impacted mostly blue-collar employment; the coming wave of innovation threatens to upend white-collar work as well."
If Rick Balkins is in fact an AI experiment like I've thought, the robots have a few years before they can really take over.
^lol, he is an old commodor model. Balkins 2.0 is coming out in 2018
