Our design for the health center of El Canton is centered on efficiency: efficiency of construction, efficiency of space, and efficiency of the building as a system.  This construction is divided into two forms. One being a pavilion style roof and the other being a set a rooms that exist independently from the roof’s structural members. The pavilion roof is constructed with simplicity in mind. There is one truss type that is replicated over and over again along the entire structure. The use of concrete masonry unit (CMU) blocks and a concrete slab both allow ease of construction as well as a clean, durable environment.
