The new one-story facility incorporates the latest design standards for site and building security. The new building replaces the former Headquarters and its antiquated “barfront” holding cells and lacking sallyport. Classic design elements of gable roof and monumental columns frame the public entrance.
Placing the building at the site’s center with significant setback from the street allows for a front lawn area designed to impede vehicular attack.
Existing police memorial was redesigned, relocating and incorporated into entry plaza.
Structural brick units comprise the exterior wall and was also used as an accent feature on the building interior.
