The city of Portland sought multi-family courtyard housing prototypes that would increase density. Our scheme, which received a jury commendation, limited auto access to one half of the site, with the remaining area devoted to greenspace for children and families. The forms and materials of the housing units respond to Portland’s climate while promoting playful colors and textures.
