Nacional High School - Refurbishment

This Project was a huge refurbishment for a School in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Right before the Pandemic, this school was going through a big expansion process, with a lot of refurbishments in its different units around the city, but this one was the biggest of all. With a higher demand from new students, the school needed more space to develop its activities. While occupying a land lot with 4939.27 sqm and with a constructed area of 4231.61 sqm, the goal was to adapt the existing spaces to the new activities, respecting the School's philosophy and the available budget at the time. Four major goals were defined because time was short. The classes would end by December of that year (2020) and return around February 2021. With this in mind, the spaces to be refurbished were a set of two classes that came to become a new Art Atelier and Workshop Room, a large Collective Study Room, a new Kitchen to attend to the new students' needs, and a full refurbishment from the External Patio, in which we should think of a new roofing and new access for the students. After a lot of combined work from all the projects and construction disciplines, we were able to finish the construction in time for the new educational year, and the results were really satisfying.
