The project’ brief was to research architectural education, how is it taught and how particular spaces can enhance the process of learning. Following on from this research an architectural response has been developed for a new Department of Architecture in the core of Porto’s historical centre – hitherto Praça de Lisboa. The proposal on a wider urban scale involves the reinstatement of Porto’s Medieval Circuit with a contemporary insertion of the proposed cloister of buildings, forming the new Architecture Department.
