What would an american office Kitchen look like from a european Perspective?
That was the main question for this project. I got an assigned Space in the Showroom in Munich that allowed only a one row design. Also the wall had to be built around 2 Existing columns. So what i did was to create a 30 Inch Raster, adapted it to a 80cm European Standard width, to get an evenly proportioned Size. The Kitchen was then put into a Drywall housing, and was sticking out 25 Centimeters in the Front. That allowed free Movement for the Feet while working in the Kitchen and a nice and evenly painted Wall and Color Frame. I selected the Color "London Clay" from Farrow & Ball to give it a matte and even finish.
The Materials of the Kitchen:
- Front and Sidepanels made out of IMI- Concrete, Sidepanels beveled 45°
- Backsplash and underside of the Wall Cabinets in a very raw smokey oak
- 5mm cold-rolled Stainless Steel, with a custom designed welded Sink
Integrated Appliances:
- Gas-Cooktop Gaggenau
- Integrated Hood Gutmann
- Dishwasher integrated F&P
- 30 Inch Gaggenau Oven
