Intended for <24 hours of occupation by weary travelers, the room for repose is designed to accommodate the hygienic and rehabilitative needs of its occupants within a compact and efficient space. The traditional move towards enclosed wet spaces and open dry spaces has been reversed with a sunken tub/shower forming the focal point of an open, tiled bathroom that constitutes one half of the scheme. The other half of the room is comprised of two dry volumes carved out of the wall massing: a chaise lounge, bench seating with table, and finally an enclosed steam room.
