A residential project in Ann Arbor, Mi. Assigned the binary of inside + outside to establish a spatial  hierarchy, a convent was proposed to serve the surrounding community as an outreach while also a residence for religious orders. Therefore, a juxtaposition of the horizontal and vertical distribution of natural light defined the organization of program distinctly separating the binary while forming a gradient between spirituality and secularism.
