HVAC Design for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Surveyed existing steam heating system and created demolition and construction documents for the purpose of replacing the steam heating system with a hydronic heating hot water system. Survey responsibilities included the recording of all steam coils in the system and all coil trim including steam traps.

The building design heating load was calculated by surveying the existing Con Ed steam service rig and examining the steam use history of the building. The new construction water flow diagram contained the hot water boilers and hot water pumps for the new hydronic heating system. Hydronic heating system GPM was calculated to deliver 160F to the coils and perimeter finned tube radiation and return 130F to the boilers.
