The design intent was to change their work culture to an open, team-oriented,collaborative workspace supported by private conference areas, as well as to create anenergy-saving, sustainable office environment; however, the large open spaces andhigh ceilings created serious concerns regarding acoustics and how to provide a quietwork environment. Our primary design solution was a system of overhead, perforatedmetal, canopies that integrate and provide acoustic attenuation, lighting, and ventilation.
