IF COASTAL EROSION PERSISTS, THE COASTAL COMMUNITY OF PACIFICA WILL SUFFER DUE TO SEA LEVEL RISE, WHICH IN TURN, WILL DROWN THE CITY OVER TIME. ONE SOLUTION WOULD BE TO SIMPLY ARMOR THE COASTLINE WITH EXPENSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE, OR WE CAN ACCEPT THIS AS AN INEVITABLE SITUATION AND EMBRACE IT TO ACCOMMODATE THE SURFERS AND CITIZENS OF PACIFICA.  INSTALLING A SERIES OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS ON LINDA MAR BEACH WILL NOT ONLY PROVIDE THE NECESSARY INFRASTRUCTURE TO COMBAT COASTAL EROSION AND SEA LEVEL RISE, BUT WILL PROVIDE THE APPROPRIATE PROGRAMMATIC NEEDS FOR THE COMMUNITY. BY EXPLORING THE TEMPORALITY OF ARCHITECTURE, THE SITE WILL BEGIN TO EVOLVE AS THE INEVITABLE THREAT OF NATURES FLUCTUATING ATTITUDE PUTS PACIFICA IN HARMS WAY BY ADJUSTING AND ADAPTING TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
