Forest Cabin

The goal of this project is to design a virtuous and innovative tiny architecture, promoting sustainable development principles. The objectives are various: modularity, reversibility and multi-functionality. Moreover, solar panels and rainwater havesting system makes the cabin self sufficient energetically wise.

The project’s guiding idea is to apply the principle of modular construction, allowing the micro-architectural space to be adapted according to current needs and thus offer nearly infinite functional possibilities. This modularity requires a certain efficiency and simplicity in construction. Microarchitecture responds to economic and environmental realties whilst adapting to a variety of contexts and applications, resulting in the development of a universal model.

The micro-space is ergonomically optimised to accommodate the dimensions of the human body. Beside this, it is customisable by adding modules or plugins, influencing the shape of the project. Plugins can host different functions such as storage space, technical facilities, relaxation area ... thus, an infinite number of combinations is possible.
