Washington, DC
This townhouse located in a historic neighborhood of Washington DC is the juxtaposition old and new. During the refurbishment process, all historic elements of the house were restored to their fullest grandeur while subtly balancing with modern conveniences.
For a building with only two exposures, appropriate selection of colors and materials were essential for an efficient day-lighting strategy. The white walls and glass railings reflect the changing colors of the day light. The design is minimal – crisp lines, selective furniture with stainless steel and glass accents – all integrated to complement the old as well as to provide an airy feel.
