The design proposes to replace the existing natatorium at Penn State. The main goal was to design a new facility for Penn State athletes, students as well as the local State College community and visitors from around the world. The proposed new building was required to be equipped with an indoor 50-meter pool with a separate diving area for various sized diving boards and platforms. In addition, it needed to include spectator seating for 2,500 people.
