About

I am a graduate from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism – University of the Republic at Montevideo, Uruguay in 2006.
In my capacity an architect in Uruguay, I have undertaken all stages of architectural processes both in architectural design and construction. In architectural design, I have been involved from developing the program based on the client’s needs and demands and adapting the design to these requirements. I have also been part of the design team for architecture competition entries coordinating the project presentation.
In construction, I have undertaken construction document preparation and supervision, working as a technical team leader as well as independently. In these processes I have coordinated project documentation, construction detail drawings as well as coordination with consultants (structural engineer, electrical engineer and sanitation designer, among others).
For some projects, I have either coordinated the preparation of documents for obtaining construction permits or have prepared them myself. In addition, I have coordinated document preparation for construction bids and have served as the clients’ representative towards the construction contractor. For  the CND-ANEP Public Trust, I was responsible, in the first phase, for pathologies diagnostics and remedial architecture project. In the second phase I supervised the contractors in the name of the Public Trust. For most of the architecture projects listed in my résumé, I have carried out the management and supervision of the constructions in representation of the client.
My years in academic practice as an educator at the Faculty of Architecture- University of the Republic, have focused specifically on architectural design within the design workshop. I have supervised and guided third and second year student projects through all aspects; urban implantation, site specificity and context, the program, the “idea force”/philosophy of each proposal and the form as the architectural representation and its theoretical materialization.
Furthermore, in my role as educator, I am also responsible for researching and being up to date with the “state of the art” of architectural design of which we transmit to our students through lectures and theoretical exercises.
Concerning computer software, I am proficient in Autocad . I am very knowledgeable in Revit, Rhino and Sketchup having used them to model my Final Career Project, competition study models, and preliminary design models. I used Microsoft Project and Building Book (Spanish software) during the process of the CND-ANEP Trust for reconditioning public education buildings. Excel schedules were also used extensively for this as well as other projects that I budgeted for bids, (cost estimation). This year, at Jeffrey Kamen Architect, I prepared NYC DOB sets and used Revit in a professional setting and RSmeans for cost estimation. As a foreign educated architect, I am seeking to complete my IDP experience requirements leading to the New York State Architect License.
