DADOCHENG SKYLINE

The main distinction between historical and modern architecture, is the difference of typology and space form. In in cultural heritage historical sites, the clarity of figure-ground could be presented by Giambattista Nolli’s "Map of Rome" in 1748. In the other hands, the lack of figure-ground in modern architecture, could be showed in Colin Rowe’s “Collage City" in 1978, which took Wiesbaden the german city as example.

This project begin with the historical site Dadaocheng, based on the context pattern as the figure-ground site plan strategy. In addition, transfer the neighbourhood facade texture turn into the elevation interface. At last, controlled the whole volume by existed skyline, intent to develop renewal design method.
