This gut renovation brought new life to our clients’ home, revamping the space to a one bedroom plus library, two full bathrooms, and a powder room, while also including elements that compliment the prewar building. 

The apartment was upgraded with new lighting and AC. We installed a new air distribution system, which we thoughtfully concealed in the very shallow ceiling. 

In addition, we improved our clients’ home with an updated electrical system as well as custom design ceiling moldings, doors, trim, and new tile and marble finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms. 

All the woodwork details have been replaced with reinterpreted pieces of the building’s original aesthetic. The wood floors were restored throughout with upgraded floor soundproofing. 

The highlight of the apartment was to obtain LPC approval for a new exterior window, capturing the extraordinary view of Central Park and manifesting a truly inspired renewal of this classic Fifth Avenue apartment building.
