Master of Architecture Final Project/Thesis - My Master of Architecture Final Project investigates how utilizing the vacant building stock in Indianapolis could improve an under-performing public school system, revitalize distressed neighborhoods, and reverse a decreasing inner-city population that is relocating to new, suburban towns. I created typologies for adaptive reuse strategies using a series of case studies, which is illustrated on pages 4-5. I chose to do this in order to best inform this 1914 warehouse-to-school adaptive reuse. By understanding a building’s existing qualities and drawbacks, appropriate interventions can be incorporated for an effective reuse project.
