With a pitched roof facing the direction of the morning sun, the light is directed into the main living area of the building. The walls are a light beige to make sure the natural light is reflected and reaches all corners of the room. With so much natural sunlight, the main living area uses next to no artificial lighting, keeping the building natural.
The interior of The Biker's Hut is split into two main sections, a private section and a public section. The private section includes a bathroom, shower and a place to store a few items. This section is enclosed to maintain privacy.
The public section is very open to the outside. This area of the building includes a small kitchen, the beds, and a place to relax by the fire. The interior has a very simple palot of colors to make the building look natural and connected to the outside.
The outside patio is visually connected to the main indoor living space. With the flooring and roof continuing through to the patio, the two areas seem to be the same. This space is a great way to relax and just enjoy the views of Moab, Utah. Or you can spend it fixing up a bike to enjoy the Behind the Rocks trail.
