Polyomina, as part of the "Gamescapes" research, questions authorship and the politics of production, and gambles on an open source network and a promiscuous proliferation of knowledge. It celebrates an Object Oriented methodology where units are no longer simply parts but operational entities, and was re-instantiated as building blocks. It tries to broaden the repertoire of techniques incorporating elements of game design. The ultimate goal is to cater for a collective intelligence in design that could benefit from lucky or persistent individuals as well as from designers in the traditional sense.
