Kelly Elizabeth is currently enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis and will obtain her Master of Architecture in Fall 2014. She spent her time at Sam Fox School of design this year exploring her path as an Architect. Kelly has also been involved with 3 Art seminar called Hybrid Media and Time-Based Media: Mediated Performance with professor Monika Weiss. Kelly feels most comfortable working between both art and architecture, She began creating in sound art as well. She feels sound instillations allow her to express architectural spaces and emotions with out any physical form in front of an audience. Kelly enjoys bringing this experimental art into her architecture practice; In this way she can pose questions about what architectural space is. [Her work was exhibited in an Art instillation; Convergence, Entanglement, Hybridity: Selected Works by Students in Hybrid Media 1 & Hybrid Media on 2 April 15-19, 2013.]
Kelly holds a Bachelors of Science in Architecture from the Catholic University of America. She was a member of CUA's AIAS, attended the Washington DC grassroots leadership conference in 2009 and became Captain of Freedom by design from 2009-2010. Freedom by design allows architecture students to use their talents to give back to those who struggle to get through every day actions like getting into your house if there are stairs. She was in charge of organizing students on weekends to design and build for those in need. Kelly was also given the opportunity and honor to study abroad twice with the Catholic University of America. In cities such as Rome, Florence, Istanbul, Barcelona, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Malta. She was also selected to study at the Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland for the spring semester 2014, with Washington University in St. Louis.
Outside of academia, Kelly enjoys being active, staying connected to nature, wandering the city streets and spending time with family.
