Manhattan Laundry is a historically preserved multi-building campus, connected by sky bridge and 17 level changes, in the culturally rich Shaw neighborhood of Washington DC. Both a former school and dry cleaning facility, the multiple lives of this building could be seen everywhere on our initial due diligence walk, and we know we had to preserve them in its new life. Details include multiple types of skylights, rusted steam chimney, landmarked glass block, clay structural tile, connecting bridge, and tiled facade with earlier branding. Sky bridge mural referring to the building's name and local Go-Go music flyers used prevalently in the 60's-70's.
