This position requires 4 days in office and candidates must reside within the NYC metro. 

The Project Manager will manage the development and delivery of various projects in coordination with the Studio Directors. They will understand and contribute to the vision and be responsible for client interaction. This role will require a high level of accountability, support and dependability, organization, people and problem-solving skills, design awareness, and industry exposure. This will be a full-time, salaried exempt position.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Close collaboration with Partners, Studio Director, and Creative Director during design phases to establish and maintain project vision, goals, and quality.
• Oversee the project architecture and design team during the preparation of coordinated documents from concept design through construction documentation and CA.
• Day-to-day point of contact with the client, responsible for building and maintaining client relations
• Manage correspondence and coordination with clients, vendors, consultants, building departments, landlords, construction teams, and other personnel involved in projects.
• Development and tracking of Project Schedule, Staffing, and Work Plan, ensuring all major and minor project milestones are met.
• Financial management of projects including the preparation and tracking of contracts, fees, invoices, scheduling, budgeting, and work assignments of project staff
• Research, analysis, and compliance with governing codes and other applicable national standards, project standards, protocols, and guidelines.
• Assist with staff development and mentoring.
• Oversee the preparation of reports and presentations for client meetings.
• Manage the development of architectural specifications.
• Develop project-specific construction details that meet all design, performance, and code requirements.
• Monitor the progress of all construction phases in compliance with design drawings and deadlines
• Analyze construction bids received from contractors.
• Oversee and perform Construction Administration duties such as reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture or related field
  • Minimum 6+ years of professional experience working on related project type or 5 years working with GRADE
  • Ability to interpret construction data, engineering calculations and drawings, and building codes.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects or accounts with diligence and commitment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Photoshop & InDesign required.
  • Basic knowledge of Revit and SketchUp is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Suite
  • Must be able to multitask and work with a sense of urgency. 
  • Highly organized with acute attention to detail
  • Ability to accept directions and work well in a team.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Ability to handle the pressure of tight deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibility: 
This is a supervisory position. This role will have one or more direct reports.

Work Environment: 
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This job is in an open space office environment with considerable background noise and disturbances. 

Physical Demands: 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. This is largely a sedentary role. This role would require the ability to lift and organize materials, and files, open filing cabinets and occasionally bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Other regular physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, stooping, repetitive motion, lifting not more than 15 pounds, reaching, and typing. 

Work Authorization: 
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without needing sponsorship at the time of hiring or in the future. Exceptions for sponsorship must be authorized by senior management.

Office Hours:
General business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The ability to work beyond these regular hours may occasionally be needed to meet the demands of the business.

Travel: 
There is minimal travel required for this position.
